success!

Here is andrew with our shared copy of harry potter. He's happy on the inside, really! And he'll probably be up all night!

Not visible here is the letter H being held up. Our turn! Still a bit of a crowd pushing in.... But after that a nice neat line! There's a sax player doing cabaret, which is a little strange. Also nice to see which boys from the neighborhood foresook the usual friday night bar scene for potterpalooza!

Liveblogging from harry potter final book release at barnes and noble prudential center. We wussed out of the big harvard square celebration since we'd already ordered a copy here. Not as exciting but still pretty crazy. "Box cutters to your stations, countdown starting now..." and despite the nice ordered wristband system (groups of 50 lined up starting at 1130) everyone pushed forward...

lookin sharps?

Latest experiment in non-alcoholic beer: miller sharp's. It's like sparking apple cider, but with a tinge of iced tea. Not really beerish at all but not a bottled skunk either!

How time flies!

Another shocking milestone!  I realized today, as Ann and I headed off to Wisconsin, that the last time we attended this conference was two years ago!  I had been thinking it was last summer, but forgot we had skipped a year!

Nonetheless, I am excited to be back in Madison.  The first time I came here I didn't expect much from the city, and I was really nervous because it was my first major conference after starting my company, Metaversal Studios.  I didn't even have real business cards yet, just lame ones that I had to print on my old laser printer because the inkjet wasn't working right that day.

Now, two years later, I'm still trying to get through the big box of business cards I got shortly after the first GLS conference.  And, I'm still thinking about the same Big Ideas, which I still haven't had time to implement.

One thing that will be changing soon will be this blog.  After running this as my little catch-all blog for the last year and a half, I am going to finally whip things into shape and subdivide into three blogs: one with creative updates, one with rants, and one about Art-Language-Code.  Yes, I'm REALLY going to finally write in this blog about what it was supposed to be about to begin with.

But that's not for tonight.  For the moment I am off to register at the conference, get a hug from my friend Alice, grab a bite to eat, and then spend the night working on overdue client work!

Oh yeah, and since Ann and I are giving a 20 minute talk on Friday and Eric Zimmerman, a man who is living the life I wish I were living, is the respondent to it, I suppose I should finish figuring out exactly what it is I'm saying for my part!
